Compagnie Kafig dances in Boston

On February 7th, 8th, and 9th, the Celebrity Series of Boston will present Compagnie Kafig at the Citi Shubert Theatre. Since their U.S. debut in 2002, this innovative French hip-hop ensemble, directed by choreographer Mourad Merzouki, has become an international phenomenon, selling out performances worldwide. After an encounter with eleven young dancers from the shantytowns of Brazil, Merzouki created works that showcase a sensational combination of athletic samba, hip-hop, and capoeira dance styles.
