25 Mountains Down and 1 to Go!

Meribel and St Martin de Belleville were my final two mountains before the final one on Friday. We left Courcheval after breakfast and I left Sue at Meribel Mottaret where I could get to the place I needed quickly. This little village is just north of the main Meribel village. I read the trail map a bit wrong and had to do a few runs to get where I really needed to be. I made my way to Mont Vallon but it was closed. So I got permission to do a video from the bottom.
Then I rode up a cute gondola where the cars were fashioned after old carnival rides cabins with fancy paint jobs. Unfortunately my picture didn't turn out. I made my way down to St Martin de Belleville in one long scenic run. Then went into town to get my tourist stamp. Where I met Mike from Colorado but originally from Sweden. Who went home to visit family for a few days and was finishing up 24 and 25 as well. The town was cute with and old Baroque church. Then we headed back to Meribel together. He was off to ski La Tania and I to find a tourist stamp.
After a bit of relaxing and Sue finishing up work we headed to dinner. We found a great little spot and had some fondue with house wine. It seemed to be the place for all the British skiers in town. I met one guy who we talked while waiting for our table and I told him about the Epic Race. Later inside his friend told me I appear to be his new hero as he couldn't stop talking about the race. Then back up the hill and about a 45 minute trek later I made it to meet up with the guys who I met in Austria. It was a nice night and met some more people.
I'm tied for first with 80+ people or 54th depending on how you look at it. Tomorrow we are going to go scope out the final areas. I will create a posting with the final challenge and rules later; as we have been receiving lots of emails with safety focus and sportsmanship. It is too bad people aren't playing by the rules and we need emails like these and the ones about not being rude tourists.
