Rightsizing Cities: Creating Streets that Work for Cars, Cyclists and Pedestrians

Atlantic Cities published an article about a piece Project for Public Space is doing on “rightsizing” streets. What does this mean you may ask! Well you can read it here and I can also explain a little more. This is not just about shrinking 4-lane thoroughfares, but about creating streets that work for cyclists and pedestrians as well as cars. Its about creating place and adding a little something extra to the experience of getting around town. Now I am looking for opinions on where we find examples of this in our fair City and especially in the Gateway neighborhood. BU Medical created some beautiful green neutral grounds on Mass Ave this summer. Maybe that’s a first nomination. Got any more?
