Wine Emporium Robbed at Gunpoint Tuesday

A Boston man is under arrest.

A 26-year-old Boston man allegedly robbed the Wine Emporium on Tremont Street at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Shawn Wright was arrested by Boston Police soon after the 8:10 p.m. incident and is being charged with armed robbery.

Wright, who matched the description given by a store employee, was located and taken into custody in the area of Clarendon and Appleton Streets, just a few blocks from the store’s 607 Tremont St. address. After a quick search, police allegedly recovered a firearm from Wright.

A store employee told police that he was working behind the counter when Wright entered the store, approached the counter, showed a firearm and said, “Give me the money.”

Wright was then given an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the employee, before fleeing on foot.

There is almost always a security guard in that store when I've been in. Were they off on Tuesday?
