Romney Cruises to Victory in Boston with 69 Percent of Vote (Results)

Plus unofficial results from the South End's State Committee Man and Woman and Ward Committee races.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary, he also came out ahead in the state’s capital, earning 69.27 percent of the vote in Boston, according to unofficial results released late Tuesday night by the city.

In the city, only 7.83 percent of registered voters, or 27,561 out of 352,123, turned up at the polls, according to the preliminary data.

Also in the city, 14,539 votes were cast in the Democratic presidential primary, 10,917 in the Republican and 113 in the Green-Rainbow.

Below are the unofficial results from the entire City of Boston for the Republican, Democratic and Green-Rainbow presidential primaries, as well as the results from the Second Suffolk District’s State Committee Man and Woman and the Ward Committee races relevant to the South End. In the Ward Committee contests, 35 individuals are elected.

The South End is within the Second Suffolk District and includes sections of Wards 3 (Precinct 7), 4 (1, 2, 3), 5 (1), 8 (1, 2) and 9 (1, 2, 3). To see results from other State Committee Man and Woman and Ward Committee races throughout the city, visit the city’s elections website.
