Poll: Do You Use Apps to Track Your Bus or Train?

The MBTA says ridership is up because of smart phone apps that provide real-time data. Do you use one?

Bus and T ridership is up, the MBTA says. The reason? Smart phone apps like Catch the T and Catch the Bus with real-time schedule information.

“We’re absolutely convinced that the widespread availability of real time bus data is making public transit a more convenient option for commuters,” acting MBTA General Manager Jonathan Davis told Boston.com. “More than a hundred thousand smart phone users have downloaded apps that provide arrival time information for more than 180 MBTA bus routes.”

With an overall increase in ridership from 4.4 percent from April 2011 to April 2012, we have to know: have you been using the app?
