Five Things: SoWa Announces Winter Farmer's Market

The indoor market will feature 30-40 local farm and specialty food vendors.

Today is Friday, October 7. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Sunny today with highs around 60, plus a beautiful weekend ahead.

2. SoWa Open Market fans will be pleased to hear of plans for a winter farmer's market held indoors 460 Harrison Ave. The market will be open every Sunday from November 13 through April 29 and feature 30-40 local farm and specialty food vendors. Sign up for a booth here.

3. BosGuy reports on a new menu coming to featuring "more small plates and a lower price point." The new menu should be rolling out later this month.

4. The Union Park Neighborhood Association is hosting a Fall Fundraiser in the park this Sunday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Stop by the park to support your neighborhood and welcome in the Fall. 5. Roxbury Community College has been named an “Achieving the Dream Leader College” by Achieving the Dream, Inc., a national nonprofit dedicated to helping more community college students, particularly low-income students and students of color, stay in school and earn a college certificate or degree.

“Roxbury Community College is proud to join the 51 other community colleges across the nation that have been designated Leader Colleges,” said RCC President Dr. Terrence Gomes. "We will continue to work hard to support the development of the populations we serve."
