Five Things: Pilot Block Neighborhood Association on Wednesday
Today is Monday, Feb. 6. Here are five things you need to know today:
1. With Boston very much in need of a sunny day, Mother Nature delivers. Temperatures are expected to near 50.
2. The Pilot Block Neighborhood Association will hold its monthly meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the South End Branch Library. The agenda will tackle the recent upswing in neighborhood crime (“Is it time to revive a Neighborhood Watch?”), nominations for the association’s new leadership, street cleaning changes and more.
3. A weekend stabbing in a Union Park Street residence left one man in critical condition, according to Boston Police. Police arrested 26-year-old Soren Capawanna, of Boston, shortly after the incident Saturday morning and charged her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife). Capawanna allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man in a domestic incident. The man was taken to Boston Medical Center and was listed in critical condition, according to police. However, he was expected to survive, police said Saturday.
