Five Things: Open Studios This Weekend

Over 200 artists will be participating in the two-day event.

Today is Wednesday, Sept. 14. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. More sun today with highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

2. Head over to the South End Open Studios this weekend and meet dozens of local artists who work in the neighborhood. Over 200 artists are participating in the two-day event, which is celebrating its 25th year. Visitors are invited to stop by artist studios in 12 different building across the neighborhood between 11 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day. For a full list of participating artists, click here.

3. Give a warm welcome to Blueport Commerce: the e-commerce solution provider that recently relocated its corporate headquarters to the South End. The new headquarters occupy 12,000 square feet of office space at 580 Harrison Avenue, behind . 

"We were looking for a space that could meet our growing needs as a company and a location with a wealth of amenities for our team members, clients and visitors," said Carl Prindle, President and Chief Executive Officer. 4. On Sunday, the community found unity and inspiration through songs, compositions, poetry and dance in honor of the 9/11 anniversary. Click to view a video of Sunday's performances, which included several different styles of music, some written specifically for the event.

5. Union Park neighbors and friends are invited to an Evening in the Park on Saturday. Head over the park between 6 and 8 p.m. for live jazz. Bring a blanket and pack a picnic dinner.
