South End Residents to Attend Fundraising Dinner in London With Prince William
On November 8th, a number of Boston area residents are attending a special fundraising 600th anniversary dinner in honor of the University of St. Andrews, Scotland’s oldest university, in London with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The event will take placeat the historic Middle Temple, former headquarters for the Knights Templar. There will be speeches from Prince William, The Principal, Dr. Louise Richardson and current scholarship students, music and a silent auction as well as a small reception with the royal couple priorto dinner.
South End long-time residents, Karen Glickman Walls an alumni and trustee of the University of St. Andrews American Foundation will attend along with Adrienne Kimball, generous supporter of the scholarship fund in addition to other guests from the area; Susan Gilmore, Dr. Steven and Ali Kassels, Kristine Hoag, Dr. Peter Hirst and Dayle Scher, Ann Kilguss, Christopher Evans and other Americans to celebrate this momentous occasion in Scottish history.
In May, Walls and Kimball also celebrated the University at a gala event inNew York City with Sir Sean Connery at the documentary film premiere of “Ever to Excel”, a film by Murray Grigor another alumni, about the University’s long and prestigious historycommencing in 1411. The Duke and Duchess, who famously met at St. Andrews, are lending their support for the University’s scholarship campaign which will help St. Andrews tocontinue to expand it’s reach academically and globally.
