MBCR Hosts Women's Craft Cooperative at South Station

On Thursday, December 13th, Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad (MBCR) hosted women’s shelter Rosie’s Place and their Women’s Craft Cooperative for a special holiday craft fair at South Station. The fair featured original crafts created by artisans at Rosie’s Place made from vintage buttons and other accessories.

From left to right, Nancy Familia, Renie Wright and Frances Arthur, all members of the Women's Craft Cooperative, sold original crafts created by Rosie's Place artisans at South Station.

MBCR’s commitment to serving the communities in which they operate extends to community-based non-profits like Rosie’s Place. All proceeds from the MBCR-sponsored craft fair benefited the women’s shelter. The purchase of original crafts by customers allowed buyers to obtain beautiful, hand-crafted items and directly assist the Women’s Craft Cooperative, which creates a collaborative work environment where women obtain job readiness skills and learn elements of merchandising.
